"Diamond Blues" Tutorial

"Diamond Blues"

I wrote this Tutorial on Nov. 20th, 2009.
Any resemblance to another tut online is purely coincidence.
You will need any version of Paint Shop Pro. You will also need a good knowledge of
Working with masks.
I used Wsl_Mask 17, Here but you can use any mask you wish.
Tube of choice, Font of choice.
I am using a freebie scrap kit from Scraps-Dimensions called "Diamond Blues".
You can find the kit. Here
I am using the artwork of Keith Garvey. Please Do Not use the same tube without
The proper license to do so. You may find his tubes. Here
"Ready? Let's Go"
Open your mask in Psp and set aside for now.
Open a new 600x600 blank canvas and floodfill with white.
Add a new layer. Copy and paste a paper of choice from the kit.
Open your mask, apply mask. Duplicate the mask layer, and on the original layer.
Adjust, blur, gaussian blur of 25%. Hide your white background layer.
And merge the two mask layers visible. Unhide your white background. Pull the
Merged mask layer out to fit the canvas.
Open up the SD DB Embellishment 3. Copy and paste on top of the merged mask layer.
Add a drop shadow and place it to the left top side. Sharpen.
Open up the SD DB Clip 1. Copy and paste it on top of merged mask layer.
Resize. image flip, position it to the top right side and angle it to the right.
Repeat this same step for the SD DB Clip 2. Add drop shadows to both clips.
Choose a patterned paper from the kit and set this as your foreground on the
Layer pallette, background is null. With your preset shapes tool set on eclipse,
Width of 20, holding down your shift key, draw out a good-sized circle, objects, align
Center on the canvas. convert to a raster layer. Add a drop shadow to the circle.
On the circle layer, with magic wand, click inside the circle, selections, modify, expand by 4.
Copy and paste a paper of choice, selections invert, hit delete, select none.
Move the paper layer below the circle layer. Back on the circle layer, with your
Magic wand, click inside the circle, selections modify, expand by 4, Open the SD DB Wrap 2.
Copy and paste it on top of the circle layer, selections invert, hit delete, select none.
Making sure its on top of the paper layer. Add a drop shadow.
Back on the circle layer, Copy and paste your tube. Position her inside the circle,
Selections invert, hit delete, select none. Add a drop shadow to the tube.
Add tube again on top of all other layers, Position her to the left side, resize if needed.
Add a drop shadow to the tube.
Now you can decorate your tag as you wish or you can use my tag as a reference on placement.
Add your name and your watermark.
Add artist copyright info, save as .Png file.
