"Christmas 2009" Tutorial

"Christmas 2009"
This Tutorial is animated.
I wrote this Tutorial On Nov. 20th, 2009.
Any resemblance to another tut online is purely coincidence.
You will need any version of Paint Shop Pro. A very good knowledge working with masks.
My Christmas 2009 scrap kit. Here
Wsl_Mask 17 Here or your mask of choice. Tube of choice, Font of choice.
Snow animation of choice.
I am using the artwork of Keith Garvey. Please Do Not use the same tube as me

"Let's Start"
Open your mask in Psp and put aside for now.
Open a new 600x600 blank canvas and floodfill with white.
Copy and paste a paper of choice from the kit as a new layer. Apply mask.
Duplicate the mask layer, and on the original mask layer, adjust, blur, gaussian blur
Of 25%, click ok. Hide the white background layer, merge the two mask layers visible.
Unhide the white background. Pull mask out to fit canvas.
Open the clips from the kit, copy and paste them under the merged mask layer.
Resize them, image flip. Position them to the top right of canvas and with your deform
Tool, angle them to your liking. Add drop shadows.
Open the flower bunches, copy and paste them under the mask layer, and
Position them to the top left side of the canvas. Duplicate and place one on the bottom
Right. Add drop shadows.
Open one of the circle frames from the kit. Copy and paste on top of mask layer.
Add a drop shadow to the circle frame. With your magic wand tool, click inside circle.
Selections, modify, expand by 8, copy and paste a paper of choice, selections invert.
Hit delete, select none. Move the paper below the circle frame. With magic wand, click inside the circle again, selections modify expand by 8, open a wrap bow or beaded ribbon,
Position it inside the circle, selections invert, hit delete, select none. Drop shadow.
Making sure this is on top of the paper layer.
On the circle frame layer, With magic wand, click inside the circle, selections
Modify, expand by 8, Copy and paste your tube, Position her inside the circle.
Selections invert, hit delete, select none. Add a drop shadow to the tube. Make sure
The tube is on top of the wrap bow or beaded ribbon but inside the circle.
Open any of the flowers from the kit. Resize, Position them on the bottom right.
Add drop shadows. Open the gingerbread house, resize, and position it on the bottom right.
See my tag as a reference for the placement. Add a drop shadow.
Open a pointsetta flower, resize, and position one to the bottom left of canvas.
Add a drop shadow, layers duplicate and place it to the top right. Open one of
The candle sets, resize, position it to the bottom right of canvas. Add a drop shadow.
Open the cookie jar resize, and position it to the bottom left of canvas. Drop shadow.
Now you can add any ornaments from the kit, resize them and place where you want.
Add drop shadows and sharpen if needed.
Open the holly from the kit. Resize, place one on the top left of canvas.
Layers, duplicate and place it to the bottom of canvas near the cookie jar.
Add drop shadows.
Open one of the trail ribbons, resize, and place it on top of the pointsetta flower. Add
A drop shadows, sharpen if needed.
Open one of the heart chain accents and place it to the right side on top of the trail ribbons.
Add a drop shadow and sharpen if needed.
Open any ornaments from the kit and resize them. Place them to the bottom middle.
Open your tube and copy and paste it on top of all other layers, Position
Her to the left side of canvas. Resize if needed. Add a drop shadow to the tube.
Now you can add your name and your watermark.
Add all artist copyright info. Merge layers visible. Now we need to take it into AS.
"Animation"
Go to edit, copy merged and paste into AS as a new animation.
Depending on the snow animation you use, duplicate the tag for as many frames
As the snow animation. Snow animation i used has 10 frames, so you would
Duplicate as many frames as you need for the snow animation.
On your duplicated tag, select all. On the snow animation, select all, edit copy and
Paste into selection. Keep repeating this step til you have all the areas
Covered you want the snow on your tag. When your done, click on view animation.
Now you need to decide on how fast you want the snow to animate. Click on
Animation, then click on frame properties and in the little box put in 15-20.
Click ok. View animation. If all goes well with the animation, save you tag as a .gif file.
