"BlackNGold Tutorial"

"Supplies Needed"

Paint Shop Pro. Any version will work with this tut.

A really good knowledge working with masks and applying them.

"Animation Shop". (Optional).

Xenofex2. Constellation.

My PTU Scrap Kit, BlackNGold.  Here

Tube of choice. Font of choice. I used the font Pristina.

Wsl_Mask349. Here

I used the artwork of Ismael Rac.  Here

Please Do Not use the same tube as me without the proper license.

"Let's Go".

1. Open a new  blank 600x600 canvas in Psp and floodfill with white.

2. Open the Wsl_Mask349 and set aside for now.

3. Copy and paste BlackNGold Paper02 over white background.

4. On the Wsl_Mask349, Go to layers, New mask from image.

In the box that pops up, Find your mask, Hit ok. 

Go to layers, Load save mask to alpha channel. Save.

5. Highlight your paper layer. Go to Load/save mask from alpha channel. Hit ok.

Merge group the mask layer. Hide the white background.

On the mask layer, Using the deform tool pull the mask out on all sides to fit canvas.

Add a drop shadow of choice. This is optional.

Hide the white background and merge both mask layers visible.

6. Repeat the same steps as above for the next paper. Leave this paper as is.

7. Copy and paste the BlackNGoldRoundBead Frame. Resize it 110% twice.

8. With your magic wand tool, Click inside the frame. Expand by 6.

9. Copy and paste BlackNGold Paper05. Selections invert, Hit delete Hit ok.

Make sure the paper layer is below the frame layer. Add a drop shadow to the frame and paper.

10. Highlight the frame layer. With the magic wand tool, Click inside. Expand by 6.

Copy and paste the BlackNGold BeadedRibbon02. Position in the middle.

Selections invert, Hit delete. Hit ok. Add a drop shadow to the beadedribbon.

11. Highlight the BlackNGold BeadedRibbon Frame.

With your magic wand tool, Click inside the frame. Copy and paste your tube.

Selections invert, Hit delete. Click ok. Make sure the tube is above the beadedribbon layer.

On the paper layer, Lower the opacity down to 42% or your choice.

Add a drop shadow to the tube.

12. Now here you may decorate your tag the way you want or use mine as a reference.

13. Add drop shadows to all embellishments. Add your name and watermark.

14. Add all Artist copyright info and your license number.

"Animation" (Optional)

Highlight the paper layer. Go to Effects, Xenofex2 Constellation.  Keep Original image is checked.

Star Size=3.00

Star Size Variation=0

Edge Star Density=1

Overall Star Density=50

Overdrive=50

Twinkle Amount=75

Twinkle Rotation=45

Randon Seed=1.

Go to Edit, Copy Merged and paste into AS as a new animation.

Go Back to Psp, Edit undo Constellation.

Repeat the constellation effect as above only changing the random seed.

Edit, Copy merged and paste into AS after current frame.

Go back to Psp, Edit undo Constellation.

Edit, Copy merged and paste into AS after current frame.

View your Animation. Save as a .Gif File.

New Tutorial "Blue Ice Christmas"

You will need any version of Paint Shop Pro. I used Pspx2 for this Tut.

You must need a good knowledge working with masks.

Wsl_Mask349. Here

 

Ready? Let;s Start.

1. Open a new  600x600 blank canvas and floodfill with white.

2. Open the Wsl_Mas349 in Psp and minimize for now.

3. Copy and paste a paper of your choice from the scrap kit on top of the white background.

4. Open the Wsl_Mask349. Go to Layers/Load save mask from image.

Find the mask on the drop down menu. Source Luminance is checked, Click ok.

 

5. Go to Layers/Load save mask to disk. Click Save. Merge Group on the mask.

Go to Layers/Load save mask from disc, Find your mask on the drop down menu.

Click load. Merge group. With the deform tool, Pull the mask out to fit canvas.

Add a slight drop shadow to the mask layer. Merge the masks layers visible.

6.Copy and paste a different paper from the kit, And repeat the same steps for the mask we just made.

Do Not pull the mask layer out as previouly.

7. Copy and paste the Santa Frame01. With the magic wand tool, Click inside the frame and expand by 6.

Copy and paste a paper from the kit. Selections Modify, Selections Invert, Hit delete. Select none.

Move the paper layer under the frame layer. Add a drop shadow to the frame and paper.

8. Highlight the Frame layer. With magic wand tool, Click inside the frame.

Copy and paste one of the Beaded Ribbons and arrange where you want it.

Selections invert, Hit delete. Add a drop shadow to the ribbon.

9. Highlight the Santa Frame layer. Open your tube and resize by 80%.

With magic wand tool, Click inside frame. Selections modify, Expand by 6.

Copy and paste your tube, Place where you want. Selections invert, Hit delete.

Make sure the tube is above the ribbon layer. Add a drop shadow to the tube.

Add the tube again on top of all layers and postion her to the right side. Drop shadow the tube.

10. Now you may decorate your tag as you wish, Or use my tag as a guide for placment of elements.

11. Add your name in Font of your choice. Add a drop shadow.

12. Add all Artist copyright info and your watermark.

Animation is optional. If you wish to animate follow these steps.

1. Highlight the Paper layer above the mask layer. Go to effects, Xenofex2 Constellation.

With these settings. Constellation Star size=3

Size Variation=50

Edge Star Density=50

Overall Star Density=50

Overdrive=50

Twinkle Amount=75

Twinkle Rotation=45

Random Seed=1

Keep Original Image is checked. Then click ok.

Open Animation Shop.

Back to Psp, Copy Merged and paste into AS as a new animation.

Back to Psp and edit undo constellation. Effects, Xenofez2 Constellation. Leave the settings as they are.

Except change the Random Seed, Click ok. Edit copy abd paste into AS after the current frame.

Back to Psp, Edit undo Constellation. 

Go to Effects, Xenofex2, Same settings except change the Random Seed. Click ok.

Copy merged, Paste into AS after the current Frame, View Animation.

If you like the Animation, Save your tag as a .Gif file.

New Tut "Magical Christmas"

This Tutorial was written by me on Nov. 29, 2012. in Pspx2. and is my sole creation.

Any other tut online is purely coincidence.

"Supplies Needed".

You must have a very good knowledge working and applying mask to work this Tutorial.

Paint Shop Pro. Any version will do.

Animation Shop (Optional) . If you want to add snow.

 Ready? Let's Start.

1.) Open a new blank canvas and floodfill with white.

Open the Wsl_Mask17 in Psp.

Go to layers/New mask from image and on the drop down find your mask.

Source Luminance is checked. The rest is unchecked. Click ok.

Merge group.

2.) Open your choice of papers from the scrap kit.

Copy and paste paper over your white background layer.

Go to layers load/save mask from disk. Apply the mask.

On your layer pallette, Merge the mask group.

3.) Repeat the steps on 1. and 2. with a different paper from the kit.

4.) On the mask layer above the white background, use the deform tool to pull mask out to fit canvas.

Leave the other mask layer as it.

Hide the white background and merge the mask layers visible. Drop shadow optional.

5.) Copy and paste one of the frames of your choice from the kit.

Add a drop shadow. I used V&H=1.

Opacity=50. Blur=3.

6.) Highlight the frame layer. Copy and paste a paper of your choice.

With the magic wand tool, Click inside the frame.

Go to Selections, Modify, Expand by 6. Selections invert, Hit delete.

Move the paper layer below the frame layer.

Add a drop shadow of your choice.

7.) Highlight the frame layer again. Copy and paste a beaded ribbon from the kit.

Resize the beaded ribbon by 80%. With the magic wand tool, Click inside the frame.

Copy and paste the beaded ribbon and position where you want it.

Go to Selections, Invert and hit delete. Make sure the ribbon is above the paper layer.

Add a drop shadow of your choice to the beaded ribbon.

8.) Open your tube of choice in Psp. Resize the tube by 80%.

Highlight the frame layer. With the magic wand tool, Click inside the frame.

Go to Selections, Modify, Expand by 6. Copy and paste the tube.

Selections, Invert, Hit delete. Move the tube above the beaded ribbon layer.

Add a drop shadow to the tube. I used V&H=2. Opacity=50. Blur=6.

I just noticed on my tag the tube is below my ribbon layer.

It was just an honest mistake on my part...Lol.

9.) Now you may decorate your tag the way you want or use my tag as a reference.

Resize all elements and drop shadow to elements as you wish.

Add your name and your watermark.

Add all Artist copyright Info.

That's it, All Done.
